Do We Have Rights?

It's easy enough for us Americans to sit back in our comfy homes watching the world news, listening to the reporters judge other countries. They mock the way they live, dress and their government, thinking that America is the only one without problems.

But the real truth behind all the proganda, is that we're not as free as we think. Oh yes, we do live in the greatest country in the world it seems but, it to has its faults and there are many. Our gorvernment has us so brainashed into believing everything we're told, to the point that we go through life like biological robots.

For instance, a taxpayer who owes the IRS just a few thousand dollars, have their homes, cars, businesses and every other asset taken away from them in order to pay them back. Those homes, some of them, and other items, are all paid in CASH and are owned outright. Or at least that's what we think. What gives the government the right to take that away? I mean, really? Is that freedom? No.

Same goes for senior citizens.

Mom's a senior and I've seen her struggle over the past few years to get some kind of legal justice, but no one wants to handle the case. The problem? Apartment living and having to put up with abusive landlords who don't and won't perform their managerial positions. All of us are faced with having to sign a lease prior to moving in, which is understandable. Just one of those contingents upon living in them. Okay, fine. But does anyone really take the time to read the fint print? And believe me there's alot. No.

But if one did, most of them state that the residents have the legal right to live in a somewhat peacfeul environment, without harrassment from Management or annoying neighbors, who wish to inflict misery and deliberately duress to others. I'm sure this occurs alot more than people think, in apartment complexes, condos and even senior living homes.

By law, if a lease is violated, then written warnings or actual notice of said violations are given to the anoying tenant or Management causing the issues. Well, we have such a problem from our neighbors that live directly upstairs, who cause deliberate noise and from Management themsevles. We reported also, certain drug activity as well and again....nothing from Management. Useless bodies just sitting there in the office, collecting rent. They scream and yell at mom, who's a disabled senior, in the abusive manner, causing both of us to incur physical and emotional distress.

Who to call for justice? No one. Legal services and so-called HELP centers, don't take cases that involve tenant disputes such as ours. Not everyone can afford an attorney, which we were advised to do, and not everyone has the monetary resources to move again.

So, this is one of many rights taken away. The right to enjoy your home in peace, without the disturbance of others.

Another right that's been taken away from us? The right to bear arms. Okay. Let's just say...that someone breaks into your home trying to inflict harm to you and your family, or worse; rape or even committing murder. You think you can protect yourself? Oh, sure...we say. We have the right. But the real answer is NO. Because if you try, you'll be the one who gets arrested for carrying or concealing weapons. True, not all states have the same legal system, but here in Nevada? It sucks, let me tell you. Everything about Nevada sucks.

Added to this small list is of course social media. Our rights at times to have a voice or outspoken opinions won't get ourselves arrested, persay, but oh boy, if we say something wrong or heartfelt, or anything else that's truthful; we're condemned by other users tweeting or replying back negative replies. People just won't leave things alone and bother you so much, forcing you to block them or deleting your comment altogether. Bummer. After all that time you spent posting your thoughts and opinions. Half the time, I just tell them to f*** off! In the public eye, another person can SUE you for slander if you speak out of context. Even if the statement if true.

So what is a person to do? Lock themselves away like hermits for the rest of their lives, afraid to speak their minds; much less breathe, or protect themselves in general?

Hell no, I say! Why? Because eventually you're heard one way or another and your voice even if it's just one, can fight back against the ones who verbally or physcially abuse us. Only then, can we finally say that we;re truly free and that justice will be served against them.

I found a quote and I find it to be so true. Let me share it:

"WELCOME TO THE KARMA CAFE;

THERE ARE NO MENUS.

YOU WILL GET SERVED;

EXACTLY WHAT YOU DESERVE."

Anyone else have these problems or worse? If so, share them with me :)

*But quick note updated March 21st, 2016 : The tenant/Management issue has now been resolved for now and I hope it stays that way!*
