Gaming Comes To Life...

Okay, for an Assassin's Creed gamer like myself...this definitely wasn't a disappointment! When games are brought to life on screen, so many things can go wrong and be ruined with horrible writing or concepts. But in this case, this film was absolutely AMAZING!

As an Assassin's Creed fan and constant player of the game series, this held up to the series' reputation. It kept to the concept of the games, involving the protagonist, Abstergo industries and the famous Templar order.

The film follows the incredibly talented Michael Fassbender as the lead role, Cal Lynch; sentenced to die in prison for murder. After closing his eyes, accepting his fate, the next thing he saw was Sofia's (Marion Cotillard) face.

After many questions; some still left unanswered, Cal was introduced to the Animus...a machine that synchs your mind to those of your ancestors. I wish there was such a machine, so that way I could see who were my ancestors were.

Cal's ancestor was Aguilar; part of the ancient Assassin's order, protecting ancient artifacts from the Templars who seek to destroy the world with their corruption and control.

Just like the game series, the film focused on the Templars searching for Apple of Eden; one of those artifacts the Assassin's sought to protect.

I admit, the concept for Animus was a different take and much better than the games; definitely beneficial for the user, allowing them better movement and interaction.

Not only was the cast amazing with Michael Fassbender, but you had Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons; famously known for his villainous roles. They brought their talent to the screen.

So now, let's get onto the things I didn't favor.

Nothing. There isn't anything wrong with this movie.

The fighting sequences were holy wow...amazing and I absolutely loved the hidden blade sequences and of course the smoke bombs! Boom, puff of smoke and then Assassin's attack in the shadows!

After all, they don't have that saying for nothing:

"Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted.

We work in the dark, to serve the light!"

Toward the end of the film, Cal truly accepted the destiny in his blood and with others in the facility, they escaped, going after the Templars who discovered the Apple's location. But that moment of Templar glory didn't last very long as Cal and the others infiltrated the Templar temple, which makes you wonder what the Illuminati really are!

The ending had me on the edge of my seat because I hear they're making a part 2 and OMG, I can't wait! This as I said, is the best game-to-movie-adaptation.

My rating for ASSASSIN'S CREED is an excellent and engaging 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I would give a higher rating, if there was such a thing.
