*ding-ding* The Match Between Godzilla vs Kong Begins!

Cast: Millie Bobby Brown, Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Julian Dennison, Eiza Gonzalez, Kyle Chandler, Brian Tyree Henry, Demian Bichir and Shun Oguri (don't forget Godzilla and Kong)

Synopsis: Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home. Along for the ride is Jia, an orphaned girl who has a unique and powerful bond with the mighty beast. However, they soon find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla as he cuts a swath of destruction across the globe. The initial confrontation between the two titans -- instigated by unseen forces -- is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the planet.

What can I say about this film that hasn't already been said in other online reviews? Hmm, let's see I'm sure I'll find something 🦍 For starters, this 3rd Godzilla installment lost its oomph compared to the previous films, leaving many gaps; what happened to all the Titans from King of Monsters, for instance? They weren't even mentioned in this saga. Did they go back to their "Monarch" facilities or...what? I would've loved to have known what happened to them, even if it was just a moment in conversation, something! 🦍 Now, MBB'S role/story was completely unnecessary and had no major impact to the story itself other than being an annoying teen getting caught by grownups because she retaliated against daddy in an argument about Godzilla's behavior. Oh, please go back to school and deal with teenage drama and leave the adults to handle the big monsters., okay! Good and this whole scifi touch with the fancy flying ships and "middle world" felt too much like a "journey to the center of the earth" type of adventure, you know? Wtf is that about and where did that part of the story even come from? 🦍 The film dragged on bouncing between Godzilla and Kong, perhaps more so on Kong without a clear blend of their ancient rivals and the only exciting thing I can say was the 5 minute (okay maybe 10) fight between the Titans and if you watch carefully you can clearly see Kong performing some funky "kong-fu" kicks (no offense to the practice of martial arts) and not to mention Kong yielding his Godzilla-spike axe! Oh, please...he acted more like a human than a Titan with the whole ego, especially when sitting on the throne in "said" middle world taking in euphoria of the moment. What is this? Game of Thrones? I thought the Iron Throne was destroyed? Oh wait, that's something else, sorry! (sarcasm intended) 🦍 Now, my mom had a point about something else that doesn't make any sense in any which way or form! You know the scene when Godzilla was in Hong Kong and suddenly began blasting his radioactive energy deep into the middle world's core? Remember that scene after Kong place the axe in that lowing ring around his donkey kong throne? Okay, here's the kicker so pay attention: how can Kong (and the ship) jump down into the deeper hole that Godzilla created...and come up in Hong Kong? Do you see what I'm saying? If you're reading this scratching your head, it's okay, I am too! 🦍 Sigh. Sometimes directors, producers and writers should stop trying to continue a saga because they're just throwing things together for sake of filming and making money but who am I to say it's a complete flop? So far it's made $48M plus so to each their own taste but I wasn't a fan, my mom wasn't a fan and neither was my dog (coughs sarcastically, sorry) and oh don't even get me started on the whole MechaGodzilla thing or the rich dude wanting to make a name for himself in the world. I was like, "Oh, boy..." along with the "face palming" seriously? But whatever, it was entertaining when I didn't fall asleep!

I rate Godzilla vs Kong a dull 3 ⭐⭐⭐
